Na.Muthukumar and Parithi would pen the Tamil lyrics for the songs composed by Vidyasagar. The film, directed by Rajiv Anchal, stood out from the routine Malayalam films and was produced by J.S.K. Film Corporation.
Jayaraj has been the busiest of the Malayalee directors for the last two decade. He has been churning out films in regular intervals. And he has also developed a habit of not waiting for his previous film’s results in the box office, starting his next in a shortest while from completing his last. In this pace race of creating movies he has already completed 27 movies in a short span of 18 years. Winner of several national and international awards, Jayaraj continues as a nonconformist, never ever sticking to any kind of rules or trends that remain in Mollywood. He makes both 'crass commercial’ ventures as well as thought-provoking films in successions, puzzling critics and masses alike. Even as his latest movie, 'Gulmohur' featuring director Renjith is on song in theatres from this week, Jayaraj has already started the preproduction of his next movie with Prithviraj titled 'Sorparnika'. Based on the famous drama by late Narendra Prasad with the same title, the movie will be scripted to suit the screen by B R Prasad. Jayaraj also have plans to work on another movie with Mohanlal, on the life and struggles of Kunjali Marikkar, one of the first freedom fighters of the nation.

The don from the blockbuster 'Company' could not have become such a high impact character if it was not Ajay Devgan who had done it.

A character which can be another feather in the crown of this wonderful Bollywood actor is in the pipeline.

Ajay has been fixed for the role inspired from the life of the late Mumabi gangster Haji Mastan in a movie about the underworld of the city in the 80s.

The film titled as 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai' to be directed by Milan Luthria will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and Suniel Shetty.

The director and the producers were adamant on having Ajay Devgan for the role of Haji Mastan as they felt his physical characteristics matched that of the don perfectly.

It is heard that Ajay and Milan Luthria share a fantastic rapport as they know each other for a very long time and because of Ajay being the hero of Milan's debut film- 'Kachche Dhaage' and another film 'Chori Chori'.

The real life based role when narrated is said to have impressed the versatile actor so much that he made the decision immediately to take up the character and be part of the gangster movie.

The story of the movie takes place at a time when Haji Mastan and Varadharajan Mudhaliar ruled the underworld of Mumbai and Dawood Ibrahim was still a young ambitious gangster.

Emraan Hashmi will be playing the character of Dawood Ibrahim.

It can be only said that there is something seriously wrong with the brain of Devisingh Padamsingh Rajpurohit who had played the role of Abhishek Bachchan's body double for the forthcoming movie 'Drona' when some portions of the movie was shot in Jaisalmer.

Although his name starts with "Devi" which means goddess Durga, his actions turned out to be that of a devil and a greedy man.

Mr. Rajpurohit from Rajashtan has been arrested by the police for threatening none other than Amitabh Bachchan.

The young man of 25 had asked Big B for Rs.25 crore through text messages and also conveyed that if his demands are not met, the film star will be killed.

The justification of Mr.Rajpurohit is that he looks almost similar to Abhishek Bachchan, So Big B should take up the responsibility to take care of him and also give him Rs.25 crore.

Amitabh had enough when he received an SMS which stated that he is going to die and has only three more days to live.

The actor went and filed a complaint at the anti extortion cell.

The police acted immediately and traced the phone number to Jalor district of Rajashtan after which the arrest was made.

Its clash time again for the two beauties. On one side is the dusky Priyanka Chopra who is back to avenge the destiny's decision to hand over the title of flop to her last big budget futuristic flick and regain her lost ground with 'Drona'.

On the other side stand the cute, talented and the latest bikini girl of B-Town Minissha Lamba.

The girl who is considered to be good enough because of her potential to be included in the top league of B-Town beauties in the future and who is on a high after the success of 'Bachana Aaye Hasino'.

It was on August 15 that 'God Tussi Great Ho' having Priyanka as the leading lady and 'Bachana Aaye Hasino' having Minissha as one of the heroines hit the big screens.

While the film of Salman Khan sank without a trace, 'BAH' went up the popularity charts.

Now the time has come again for two films of Priyanka and Minissha to face each other as 'Drona' and 'Kidnap' will be releasing this Friday.

This time it is impossible to side with either of the two movies as each has its own strong points and is totally different from each other except the common factor of some edge of the seat action sequences.

Let's wait and watch the verdict of the decisive Friday.

Arjun Rampal has finally made it. No, it's not about any new award that has been presented to the hunk, but a recommendation by Amitabh Bachchan to give Arjun a prominent role in a forthcoming movie.

Now is there anything else that this actor who was labeled as an wooden performer by the critics long back need to ask for when the living legend and the biggest of the stars has given his appreciation in the form of the suggestion of his name.

It is now known around in the Bollywood that Big B was highly impressed with Arjun's perfect portrayal of the guitarist in 'Rock On' and 'The Last Lear' in which the former supermodel shared the screen with Amitabh doing the role of a film director.

Arjun will be playing Big B's son in the movie titled as 'Kunal Avadana' to be financed by AB Corp and Anil Ambani's Reliance group.

In the film Amitabh Bachchan will play the role of Emperor Ashoka and Arjun Rampal will portray the role of the ruler's son Veera Kunal.

The period flick to be directed by Dr.Chadraprakash Dwivedi tells the story of the relationship between the emperor and his son.

Ramya Nambeesan, who entered Tamil filmdom through the film 'Raman Thediya Seethai' has been raved about for her gorgeous looks in traditional attire. This television anchor turned actress looks good and has emoted well in her very first film. She is now being flooded with offers from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. The actress however seems to favor Tamil films.

As like many other heroines from Kerala, Ramya is also expected to make her mark in Kollywood. In her next venture 'Aattanayagan', she stars opposite Sakthi, son of P.Vasu. It is expected to be a melodramatic love story sprinkled with comedy and feel-good factors. Ramya plays a meaty role in the film that has enough scope for her to exhibit her acting skills.

Ramya wishes to refrain from being stamped as only apt for homely characters. In 'Aattanayagan', she would appear both in traditional costumes and modern apparels. She has not lent her voice to her character in the film as she is yet to improve her pronunciation, tempo of the Tamil language.

After the resounding success of Nakul with the film 'Kathalil Vizhunden', producers are forming a beeline to cast the young hero in their films. One among the producers is Devayani, sister of Nakul. It is known that Devayani who fell in love with director Rajakumaran and married him much against the wishes of her parents was disowned by them. However, her brother Nakul was in constant touch with the couple visiting them often.

Nakul's recognition as an actor to reckon with has pleased Devayani and her husband immensely. Devayani has gone on to announce that she would venture to make a film that will star her kid brother and directed by her husband. However information as to when the project would start is not clear.

Thanks to the aggressive promotion by Sun Network and the racy number 'Naaku Mukka', the film was successful in garnering wide publicity that translated itself to expectations. The film is doing very well at the box office.

Nakul has become a welcome addition to the list of numerous young heroes who have made their foray into Tamil films recently.

The year's national award winning filmmaker Priyanandanan is on to his next venture based on a famous Malayalam novelette.

His next movie titled 'Sufi Paranja Katha' will be a cinematic adaptation of the novel by K P Ramannunni, with the same title.

The writer will himself pen the script for the screen version too. The movie will be produced by a group of NRI's who are planning to recreate many of famous Malayalam literary works into cinema.

The other cast and crew of the movie are yet to be finalized.

The row following the decision of the producers of ‘Mayabazaar’ and ‘Kurukshetra' to release the movies at maximum centres have reached a new turnaround with representatives of Film Exhibitors Federation demanding full refund of advance collected from them. The federation which is the association of 'A' class centers is against the wide releases strategies of the recent movies as they believe, it will affect their revenues.

The federation holds the view that there is no justification for the producers and distributors of both the movies, as they have already collected more than a crore as advance from exhibitors under the federation.

The emergency meeting of the federation held on Monday decided not to screen the movies if the producers and distributors increase the number of release centers for the Ramzan movies. The producers of these superstar movies meanwhile are going ahead with their decision to release the movies in maximum release stations in the State.

They have the support from, the Kerala Cine Exhibitors' Association, which is the association of ‘B’ and 'C' class theatres in the State, who have decided to screen both ‘Kurukshetra’ and ‘Mayabazaar’ in maximum centers. According to them, ‘Mayabazaar’ would be released at least in nearly 80 centers while the film ‘Kurukshetra’ will be shown in about 60 cinema theatres under the association.

Another round of meeting is being called for today to reach a final decision on the issue. If the federation of exhibitors and distributors will end up in an amicable solution then both these big budget movies may get into more than hundred centers, tomorrow for Ramzan.

Veteran director of Malayalam, Joshy who is presently into the last phases of the AMMA's big budgeted movie ‘Twenty Twenty' , will start working for another Telugu movie, in a short time. The director had been to Telugu before, for a couple of movies like ‘Anthimatheerpu’.

Apart from a song that is to be shot on Dileep and Bhavana, the major parts of' ‘Twenty Twenty' is over. The movie is currently in the final phase of its dubbing. Expected to be on theatres by the 24th of this October, the movie will have the best of the release in more than hundred theatres.

Meanwhile, the director will be back to Malayalam in January for another movie featuring Jayaram and Prithviraj in the lead.

Malayalam film industry is facing a new controversy during the festival season of Ramzan, when the major films of megastars like ‘Maya Bazaar’ starring Mammootty, ‘Kurukshetra’ of Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi’s ‘Bullet’ are scheduled to be released tomorrow on October 1st.

Cine Exhibitors Federation (CEF), an organization of 'A' class theatres in Kerala demands for a restriction in the number of releasing centers for the films. Screening of new releases in larger number of centers would harm the other films. They insisted that there must be only 48 releasing centers in the state whereas the films’ producers want their films to be screened for release in 90 centers.

Film producers association and the B-C Class theatre owners consider this restriction as harmful to the solidarity of the film industry in the forthcoming festival season.

However, the Film producers association cleared that the demand of CEF is the breach of contract signed last march, which says about permitting any number of releasing centers in the state.
