With no other big releases for the week, Johny Antony directed 'Cycle' continues to capture the top slop of the top five lists. The current favorites in the list are:
1. ‘Cycle’- This chic thriller has been making dream collections, when considered that it as a film with a lot of fresh faces. All the team members in the cast including Vinoo mohan, Vinneeth Sreenivasan, Sandhya and Bhama has become the favorites of the masses, as the film has made a share of more than a crore from its 12 day run. With no competitions ahead in the next few weeks, from any new releases, the film is destined to become a big hit.2. 'Roudram' - Mammootty's first release in the New Year is a hit, continuing in all the release centers with around 60 percent collections. The film in its fifth week has already started making profits. The film has surpassed many collection records set by his earlier films, in Malabar areas.
3. ‘Katha Parayumpol' - In another turn of events, Sreenivasan-Mammootty starrer 'Katha Parayumpol' again make a re-entry into chart tops, with many centers again reverting to the shows of the film. The film which will reach 75 days by the next week is sure to celebrate hundred days in at least a dozen centers.
4. ‘College Kumaran'-This Thulaseedas directed film continues in the slot due to default, as no other films in theatres is promising enough to engage people. ‘College Kumaran’ completes the six continuous flops listing for Lal, but continues in select theatres, with low collections.
5. ‘Calcutta News’- Continuing in very few release centers in its six week, the film is a definite flop. The great locales, fresh storylines and altogether a good cast didn't seem to have worked out for this film.
The last week release ‘Anthiponvettam', fared so badly in the box office that even on day one, some of the theatres didn't got enough viewers for some shows and was declared hold over. The others presently in major centers includes Tamil films like 'Anjathey', and ‘Mirgam’, dubbing films like ‘Attam’ and ‘Kanal’ and the Hindi films- 'Midhya' and ‘Jodha Akbar'.
