Riddhima Kapoor, daughter of well known Bollywood actors Neetu and Rishi Kapoor who chose not to follow in the footsteps of her family, has turned into a designer and launched her label for women's clothing called 'ARA'. "My collection makes a girl look hot. It is sensual but, at the same time, it's not at all vulgar. You just have to be yourself in these clothes," Riddhima, who is married to a Delhi-based businessman, said at an event on Wednesday. The collection was unveiled in "In Focus" celebrity theme at the F-Bar and Lounge. In Focus, an innovative concept that is conducted once a week, applauds the accomplishments and talents of achievers and upcoming talents from the field of fashion. Not many know that ARA, which means an ornament in Persian, is a six-month-old brand. Riddhima started the label with her friend Devyani just as a hobby and there was no official launch. But they had a set clientele and were very happy catering to them till they realised that the popularity of their range was going places. "We noted that a lot of people were wearing our brand. That gave us the idea to launch the brand officially and we were waiting for a nice platform to showcase our collection," Riddhima said. "Earlier, we used to showcase our collection to our specific clientele as 'Ladies day out'. There was no media involvement in it," she added. Talking about the designs, she said: "We have used lots of sequins and our tops can be teamed up with lowers, skirts or trousers." With Rakshabandhan round the corner, what are her plans for the occasion? "I will be in Delhi as Ranbir is busy promoting his upcoming movie - Bachna Ae Haseeno. I will send a rakhi to him along with a special gift," she said. Asked about her brother's girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Riddhima chose right words for the couple. "They look good on screen but I can't say much about their off screen chemistry. All I can say is that Deepika is a nice girl."
Kidnap is special for three reasons. It's Sanjay Dutt's first major release this year and Imran Khan's next release after the blockbuster hit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The movie is also Sanjay Gadhvi's immediate release after Dhoom 2. The first promo of Kidnap, which will hit the screens with the prints of Singh is Kinng this Friday, looks astounding. The trailer packs in a lot in its nearly three minutes of runtime. It has the edge of the seat feel, beautiful locations, rapid action, hot actors and most importantly, the confrontation between a boy and a man. Watch Imran fearlessly take on Sanjay Dutt head on, after the newcomer has kidnapped his daughter, Minissha Lamba. Imran challenges Sanjay, 'everything you do - eating, sleeping, walking, talking - will be decided by me.' To which Sanju retorts, 'Go to hell.' From there the promo takes you on an action-packed ride with Sanju searching for his daughter relentlessly and Imran ending it all with, 'hell is already here'. Imran Khan looks dashing in the new avatar (and with a tattoo on his neck). The role is a complete contrast from his debut film and he looks menacing on-screen.
Ace director Priyadarsan has lashed out at P.Vasu directed 'Kuselan' and says that the 'essence of the original Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol is missing in the Tamil version'. Priyan who is shooting for Billoo Barber the Hindi version of Katha Parayumbol in Pollachi says he will strictly adhere to the original version. Priyan feels that Vasu messed it up by giving more importance to Rajinikanth's superstar character and playing down the protagonist played by Pasupathy. "The trouble with Kuselan is that it was made out to be a larger than life Rajinikanth film which it was not, and the focus of the story shifted from Pasupathy, done brilliantly by Sreenivasan in the original and introduction of characters that were not there in the original like Nayanthara, Vadivel and Sona." Priyan says that in Billoo Barber, SRK will appear only towards the climax of the film. "My hero is Irfan Khan, who plays the role of Sreenivasan in the original. I have not tried to heighten the impact of SRK nor tried to glorify him. Like in the original he will appear only towards the climax."
